Excerpts from the Wisconsin State Constitution

Organization of legislature; quorum; compulsory
attendance. SECTION 7. Each house shall be the judge of the
elections, returns and qualifications of its own members; and a
majority of each shall constitute a quorum to do business, but a
smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and may compel
the attendance of absent members in such manner and under
such penalties as each house may provide.
Rules; contempts; expulsion. SECTION 8. Each house
may determine the rules of its own proceedings, punish for contempt
and disorderly behavior, and with the concurrence of two−
thirds of all the members elected, expel a member; but no member
shall be expelled a second time for the same cause.
Courts have no jurisdiction to review legislative rules of proceeding, which are
those rules having “to do with the process the legislature uses to propose or pass
legislation or how it determines the qualifications of its members.” Milwaukee

Anarchy in Wisconsin

The AWOL Dems are dead wrong! They try to spin this as them fighting for democracy when by their irresponsible and illegitimate acts seek to negate the bona-fide election that took place in November. To follow their reasoning, the entire election process and rule of law is negated by minority, mob rule. So, is this the state of our republic, that an unruly few refusing to abide by established law and democratic process can refute the legitimate will of the people exercised by free elections.? The real issue here in my opinion, is whether the democratic process of majority rule with free elections will continue to be the law of the land or will we discard this noble practice in favor of the whims of a vocal minority.

Facts on Problems in Wisconsin

Got these from a recent Freedom Works post. I agree with these little known tid-bits. Also "Hey MIA Dems- Get back to work and quit rejecting democracy!

1. Wisconsin is facing a $3.6 billion budget deficit.
The Department of Administration predicts that Wisconsin will face a $3.6 billion deficit between 2011and 2013. Politicians have long been promising excessive salaries and benefits to public sector workers that taxpayers cannot sustain.  Governor Walker’s reasonable request to limit public sector collective bargaining will help curb government spending to save taxpayers’ money.

2. Wisconsin public school teachers get paid nearly double private sector workers.
The average Wisconsin public school teacher gets paid $100,000 annually in compensation, $50,000 in wages and $45,000 for very generous benefits packages. In Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin, the average private sector worker makes only $53,724 annually in compensation. It’s unsustainable that taxpayers have to foot the bill for bloated public sector workers’ pay.

3. Wisconsin public teachers pay little of their health care and pension costs.Out of every dollar that public school teachers receive in salary, taxpayers pay 74.2 cents for their retirement and health care costs. In the private sector, the corresponding rate is only 24.3 cents. Due to collective bargaining agreements, the school district pays the entire cost of public school teachers’pension plans. The school district also pays the entire premium for public school teachers’ medical and vision benefits and half of the cost of dental coverage. Family health care coverage for public school teachers costs a whopping $26,844 annually.

AWOL

Everybody know what AWOL means? It stands for Absent Without Leave. Thats the case with these MIA Wisconsin Democratic Senators. I watch as the liberals compare the duly elected Governor to a dictator. Whatever your political views are, I believe we all agree under the social contract, that we live in a democratic society. Governed by established law. Its my opinion these missing Senators are in violation of their responsibilities to their constituents, and the good people of their state. They were elected to REPRESENT their constituents views, and by refusing to cast their vote in a properly convened legislative assembly, they stand negligent. If they oppose this bill their rightful duty is to vote NO. Key word here is vote. So those ignorant folks I see carrying the dictator signs should really look up what dictator really means.

Courageous or Cowardly

Okay folks, are these MIA Wisconsin Democratic legislators nuts or what? Newsflash, the election took place last November. The peoples voice WAS heard! These guys are not representing their districts. Its their job to vote NO if thats their constituents wishes, not shut down the legislature because an issue arises that they don't like and don't have the votes in a democratic institution to defeat. These people are negligent, criminal and should be immediately recalled via petition by the citizens in those districts they refuse to properly represent.
